First Blog Post
Introduction
Welcome to my blog! I’m happy to write about my studies in information processing and my learning in English. I became interested about studying information processing because I find computers and how they work interesting. I have realized how important understanding this industry is in future.
I'm first-year student so from time to time I found myself thinking "What am I even studying?" but then sometimes all makes sense. Also it is hard to explain other what am I studying when they ask what I do. There are times when I question if this was the right field or choice for me, but up until now, it has felt good, if not exactly right. Only time will tell.
As far as skills and talents go, I consider myself a valuable team player. I have experience from team sports which I have found valuable in working in a team. I can adapt to different roles, whether it's supporting others or taking the lead. My strengths lie in being versatile and willing to learn new skills, which makes me a reliable and effective contributor to any project.
Blogging
Blogging brings many advantages for me and others in my situation. Most beneficial of them are improving my communication and writing skills. I think my vocabulary will improve drastically when I try to write and read other peoples blogs. I think it is easier to track my growth if I write regularly. Also I think the structures of my writings will improve too.
There are also more advantages. One is the ability to interact and read other blogs. Writing about my experiences can support others and give peer support. In best cases it can also provide new insights for others.
English
I have noticed that mastering English language is crucial for progressing in my studies. It has been said that English is language of science and I think that is absolutely true. Usually the material and data are in English. I think my English skills are at least intermediate level. I realise that improving my English vocabulary and fluency is great worth thinking my academic success.
What it comes down to my goals I have clear vision about it. I want to become at least a C1 level English user on the CEFR scale. I think it is realistic goal. My plan is to consume English content as much as I possibly can. This content is podcasts, movies, series and news. My goal is to be comfortable when I'm reading complex technical texts about my field of study.
I have set goals to guide my learning:
Specific: Focus on improving vocabulary.
Measurable: Learn new words every week.
Achievable: Consume English-language media and study materials regularly.
Relevant: These goals will help me access better information and improve my communication.
Time-bound: I want to see noticeable improvements by the end of this course and continue refining my skills beyond that.
I think your commitment to learning English and your vision of mastering the language for your studies is great, and your plan to learn English through using it in various medias is a great way to learn. Agreed on the importance of English in science, it has become the common language thanks to the internet. Hoping to read more from you in the future.
