My Language Learning Journey

My Language Learning Journey Learning a language is a long journey and not always easy, but I think my English journey has been rewarding, especially this year. Since the course began earlier this year, I’ve seen noticeable progress, especially in vocabulary. English wasn’t new thing to me, but this course helped me connect the dots and turn scattered knowledge into something more solid. One of the biggest factors in my learning has been somewhat simple; watching movies and TV shows in English. It’s probably the most enjoyable way to learn and I would even say effortless in a way, yet effective. Subtitles helped at first, but now I often find myself understanding scenes without them. It’s nice how much you can learn just by hearing how people really talk. That said I haven’t necessarily followed a strict study plan or used every possible learning method. Still, I’ve noticed steady progress along the way. My vocabulary has improved, and I can see the difference both in my wr...

Chapter review

Chapter review "Think Java: How to Think Like a Computer Scientist" When I was choosing a book for this blogpost, I saw a book named Think Java: How to Think Like a Computer Scientist. I think my decision was largely influenced by my other course, Programming 2, where I am studying Java . The book felt perfect for my learning and to help my understanding of programming.   Also, the book reviews promised to offer an easy-to-follow approach which was exactly what I needed to enhance my knowledge. Summary of what I read I read the first two chapters which contained useful basic information. These chapters cover the basic things like how Java works, the structure of a Java program, and important concepts like variables and operators. The books clear and logical structure made it easy to understand, even as a beginner coder. What I appreciated most was how the book introduces programming concepts gradually, starting with simple tasks and building up to more complex ones. Thi...

The best piece of advice I have ever received

The best piece of advice I have ever received : Life is too short to be wasted on negativity   At some point in my life, I heard a simple yet powerful piece of advice: “Life is too short to be mad, stressed, or upset all the time.” Someone unknown person to me told me it. I do not usually think about random persons words that much but this one got stuck in my mind . Over time I have realized just how true it is.   When I started paying attention to my emotions, I noticed how often I let unimportant things get to me whether it was a dreadful day at work or school, a rude stranger or a minor inconvenience. But once I began recognizing those emotions and handling them differently, life became a lot more manageable and not so miserable . Instead of getting caught up in frustration I reminded myself that whatever was bothering me was not worth ruining my entire day or week. There is not one single moment where this advice changed my life but instead it is helped in ...

First Blog Post

Introduction W elcome to my blog!  I’m happy to write about my studies in information processing and my l earning in English. I became interested about studying information processing because I find computers and how they work interesting. I have realized how important understanding this industry is in future.   I'm first-year student so from time to time I found myself thinking "What am I even studying?" but then sometimes all makes sense. Also it is hard to explain other what am I studying when they ask what I do. There are times when I question if this was the right field or choice for me, but up until now, it has felt good, if not exactly right. Only time will tell. As far as skills and talents go, I consider myself a valuable team player. I have experience from team sports which I have found valuable in working in a team. I can adapt to different roles , whether it's supporting others or taking the lead. My strengths lie in being versatile and willing to...
